NEWGO information
Respect temperature, time and sensation.
Cold and heat can injure skin when they are too intense, used too long or applied where sensation or circulation is reduced. Product directions and clinical advice come first.
Before use
- Inspect the pack for leaks, damaged seams or hardened areas.
- Confirm that the selected product supports the intended cold or heat preparation.
- Use the indicated fabric side or barrier and test temperature before full contact.
- Ask a clinician before use when sensation or circulation is reduced.
During use
- Set a timer and remain awake.
- Keep straps secure, never constricting.
- Check skin at edges and pressure points.
- Stop for pain, burning, marked numbness, tingling or unusual color.
When to get help
Seek prompt assessment for severe or worsening pain, deformity, a crack at injury, inability to bear weight, numbness, blue-grey skin, large or increasing swelling, fever or signs of infection. Follow the treating clinician’s instructions after surgery.
